Cumulus CloudsCumulus clouds are vertical forming clouds.
These clouds resemble cauliflower with a flat darker base. They are moderate to low clouds and when the sun shines through them they light a bright white. While these clouds are a sign of fair and clear weather, when large enough, they can produce a small amount of rain. However cumulus clouds can form into cumulonimbus clouds. Cumulonimbus clouds are much heavier looking and dense. These clouds can be mountainous in shape and become lower than common cumulus clouds. Cumulonimbus clouds are a sign of severe weather to come. Such weather includes heavy downpour of rain and hail, thunder, lightning and even tornadoes. |
